Jonathan is a Spiritual Care provider at City of Hope Comprehensive Cancer Center in Los Angeles, where he supports patients, families, and healthcare providers through serious illness and major life transitions. As an interfaith hospital chaplain, he leads Bereavement Support Groups for those grieving losses and the Caregivers Connect group for those supporting loved ones with cancer. He earned his Master of Divinity from Fuller Theological Seminary in June 2017. He began his ordination journey at All Saints Pasadena in 2015, drawn by its commitment to inclusivity and social justice, and was ordained as an Episcopal priest in January 2024. He also serves as the Interim Youth Director at All Saints, where he seeks to foster a safe, inclusive, and affirming space where young people from all walks of life are welcomed and celebrated for being exactly who they are as beloved children of God. He graduated from Portland State University with a bachelor's degree from the school of business. Always having been a political junkie, he secured a minor in political science along the way. He’s been face to face with Richard Nixon and Bill Clinton. He’s been in the same room as Ronald Reagan, Al Gore, and Hillary Clinton. At the peak of his wide-ranging marketing and advertising career, he was forced to stay home to care for a family member. He didn’t want his education and experience to be stymied or for naught, so he decided to be God’s marketing assistant.
