Thank You, Donald Trump

Dear Mr Trump,

It’s taken me a while to realize this and to admit it, but I’m grateful to you.

For the past eighteen months I’ve spent a good deal of time lamenting your campaign and the poison it has so effortlessly generated, and your Presidency which is doing even greater damage. I’ve watched our country imploding, our public discourse become polluted, our political climate grow ever more corrosive, and wrongly assumed you were to blame.

It’s only lately I’ve come to understand that you haven’t manufactured our current national ugliness—you’ve simply revealed it.

By saying the irresponsible, mean-spirited, ignorant things you say so freely and so frequently, you’ve given other like-minded people license to do the same. You’ve opened up the floodgates for our corporate sewage to flow fully. People no longer conceal their vile mess, they now revel in it, they broadcast it and retweet it.

You’ve made bigotry, misogyny, and racism socially acceptable again and that has been a kind of twisted gift because it’s allowed me to really see people; not as they pretend to be on the surface—but in the very depths of their wounded, weaponized hearts.

Over and over as your campaign persisted, your supporters would tell me that they like you because you “speak your mind”. It wasn’t until recently that I’ve realized that you speak their minds. You’ve given credence to their prejudices and made those prejudices go mainstream.

Thanks to the terrible ground you’ve broken, politicians, pastors, friends, and strangers, both in person and on social media now regularly out themselves as hateful, intolerant, and malicious—and they remind me just how close they are to me, just how deep the sickness in us runs, and just how far we have to go together.

You’ve emboldened people to be open about things they used to conceal for the sake of decorum, and though it turns my stomach, I know that this is the only way we can move forward; to have that cancerous stuff exposed fully so that it can be dealt with. Our progress as a nation is predicated on authentic dialogue, no matter how brutal and disheartening that dialogue is.

In other words, you’ve let us know what we’re really dealing with here and while it’s been rightly disturbing, it’s also been revelatory. That’s the thing about that kind of harsh light: you’re forced to see everything. Beauty and monstrosity equally illuminated.

Now don’t get me wrong, I think you’re the least qualified, least knowledgeable President we’ve ever had, and I fear gravely for the world my children will inherit—should it survive your Presidency at all. I believe you’re reckless, bitter, and completely reprehensible; the very worst kind of bully.

But regardless of what happens now, you’ve already allowed me the blessing of Truth; about me, about you, about our nation.

And in the process you’ve also shown me that I am not alone in resisting you and this ugly thing you’ve revealed about us.

You’ve generated an equally loud, equally passionate response to it and this is where I find my hope these days.

I find it in those for whom equality isn’t just a cheap buzzword, it’s the most precious of hills to die on.

I find it in those people who refuse to be silent in the face of our impending shared regression.

I find it in those willing to be more bold in defending the inherent value of all people.

I find it in the growing army of those who will not tolerate hatred as a core American value.

I find it in those who reject violence as our default response to dissension.

I find it in the ever rising voice of people who will not let malice and bitterness represent them in the world.

Today I find my hope in those who, like me, will not be complicit in allowing bigotry and intolerance to become a source of national pride, because we’ve seen where that leads.

Yes, Mr Trump, you’ve unearthed our hidden sickness and you’ve allowed it to go viral.

You brought every awful thing about us out into the open.

And for this—I thank you.

  1. Although the thought of such a person rising to the leadership of our country frightens me, I am far more frightened by those who have raised him to such heights.

    • Except for one thing John. Ted Cruz—the real Ted Cruz—is even worse than Trump. As noted in your piece, Trump has let it all hang out, as Flip Wilson used to say, and we all just recently got to know him really well. I have followed Ted Cruz for years, and in my opinion, humbly offered, he is even worse. Trump is just an “English fool” with a runaway ego and a big mouth. Take that same Devil may care foolishness and inject it with highly calculated intelligence and cunning—like Satan himself—and the real Ted Cruz emerges. As my African-American friends have told me for years, “give me a KKK member any day of the week because I at least know for sure what he is all about and where he stands. I can deal with that. It’s the other kind that hides it better that is the most dangerous and hard to deal with.” Just sayin.

In my opinion, Ted Cruz is a closet Christian reconstructionist—the whacko kind who believes that if he can intentionally trigger a worldwide nuclear war, Jesus will be forced to return sooner. All of his kind (Heidi and the kids) will be rescued from the fire and radiation by Jesus during the so-called “Pre-Tribulation Rapture”—and the rest of us just get what we all deserved because of our sins. Praise the Lord for megatons!!!!

      • I, too, have said all along that as bad as Trump is, Cruz is even worse. It’s good to see that I’m not the only one who figured that out!

      • Is it ok to ask Cruz questions like “do you think you are really Latino?” and “do you like pulled pork Cuban sandwiches.” Is it also ok to ask him questions while wearing panchos and shout “ole” every once and awhile and then say “you get it, you’re Latino.

        just wondering. lol

      • The fact is- EVERY ONE of the Republicans scared the crap out of me! Cruz, top of the list. The only REAL republican who’s running is Hillary Clinton.
I’m not voting for the lesser of 2 evils- I’m hoping this election- if it’s counted at all- will show the nation it’s time for another party- GREEN. Both Trump and Clinton have done the same thing- destroyed their parties.

      • Thank you, President Trump

You have managed to unite us in a way that not even President Obama could.

Whereas before we talked about being allies, today we forged new partnerships built on common values.

Whereas before we talked about listening to each other, today we opened our hearts and ears, so that we better heard each other.

Whereas before we talked about marching together as one, today we did.

By insulting and berating us and all we care for, by demonizing and demeaning us you have made us stronger and tougher. You lit a fire under us and we thank you for the unintentional consequences of your words.

President Trump, history will remember you as the man who brought the citizens of the United States together across lines of gender, race, ethnicity, age, religion, and sexual orientation in a way we have never been before. Now, we see ourselves clearer. Now, we see ourselves more as one.

We are strong. We are committed. We stand together.

Today we marched. Tomorrow we take our country back.

      • Yes! And that is the true horror of religion. Although I’m sure you feel Kruz not a real Christian, I want to sincerely ask you; isn’t he just taking the “word of God” straight from your good book. Same with the radical Muslims. Aren’t they the real Muslims who find justification for their Jihad in the word of God as dictated in their book?

        • Hi, Tank. I can’t judge whether Cruz is a real Christian–that’s God’s job. I do think he knowingly manipulates Christians, sells them a bill of goods. Because he speaks their language, they are deceived. I’d call him a wolf in sheep’s clothing. Perhaps there’s a parallel in the Muslim world.

      • I agree, Dover1952. I feel the same way about Mike Pence. Trump is an ill-mannered, whiny little brat. Cruz and Pence are dangerous ideologues.

      • Unfortunately, I have to agree with you. We are living in extraordinarily dangerous times times, led by extraordinarily dangerous and foolish men (no women – so far).

    • For all the people the author says are refusing to let racism and other forms of oppression rule the day, he seems incapable of acknowledging the stench coming from the White House which not only endorses one of the most murderous and genocidally oriented regimes in human history it provides the regime with hundreds of billions in cash money to foment their brand of murder and mayhem.

The author seems incapable of clearing away the graft and corruption of Washington insider Bernie Sanders who has done more to prop up the great white state of Vermont with his racist lack of support for recognizing the indigenous people of Vermont (the Abenaki) while grandstanding around the country supporting other states’ indigenous people. But the thought of Vermont’s white ruling elites not being able to control the economy of the casino largesse that would surely follow, is a little too much for this modern day version of Ethan Allen to stomach.

These well meaning progressives who are not tolerating Trump and shutting down his campaign events—- they deserve deeper scrutiny and more thoughtful evaluation. Things are not what they appear according to the author. The Silent Majority has been awakened—- and what the pundits and progressive spin meisters have done is castigate us as racist and homophobic because it is all that they can do in their incompetence and ineptitude. We are the job creators, the savers, the lenders, the warrior class, and every collar of collar in the work force that there is.

Through Trump we are saying enough of the spiraling debt and the crony capitalism, the dhimmitude of the president and his executive branch, the listlessness that is growing inside our economy, the routine disinformation published by the American government about inflation, unemployment, welfare statistics, the erosion of the value of our money, and the refusal to protect our borders, language, and culture from dissolution,

These are all issues that have been affecting our nation since its founding. We intend to fight for it.

And here is a clue— we don’t care that we are judged by incompetents as being bigots and -phobes over everything. We don’t care. It’s a meaningless set of shibboleths that will not protect you, feed you, nor keep your kids “safe.” We intend to change the course of the country, which is going to change from this la-la land of “progressive” gibberish that has no basis in reality.

This is another clue— everything this author says he stands for rests on the back of a taxpayer, a taxpayer whose Treasury has been ransacked over the last seven years. There is no more money for progressive-socialist-anarcho marxist-fascist pipe dreams of utopia.

THAT is not who we are. We will survive and your kind will not— because you don’t have the stomach for doing what must be done and will be done right in your front yards.

      • @Anthony C

I was ok up until the point you said there is no more money for progressive…etc.

There is an abubdence of money in the world Anthony, it’s just going into the wrong hands. Most of it is hidden in tax havens or being spent by governments, on weapons of mass destruction and funding militia in highly sensitive regions of the world, for the purpose of (in the majority of cases), further destabilising those regions.

The ‘there’s no money’ argument is, with respect, nothing more than an irresponsible excuse to avoid addressing the real issues of society and of the world in general. I agree that a utopia cannot exist anywhere, however, our priorities are all wrong Anthony, and, unless we address them head on, I fear we will simply spiral out of control.

All governments have a duty to uphold and safeguard the financial sustainability of their territories. But, the drafting of policies in this area should always prioritise the needs of society first; if not what you create is a dog-eat-dog world fed by defensive conflict – you hit me I spend more money on being able to hit you back harder, and so the spiral continues.

What do you think Jesus Christ would do or say if he were to drop-in for the day? Do you not think he would have something to say about the trillions of pounds/dollars spent on weapons and the military around the globe. Money which ultimately, whether inadvertently or intentionally, kills human beings. Do you not think he would have something to say about where that money could be spent instead, not to mention the obvious commandment of, “Thou shalt not kill”.

I have a central life tenet which guides my social compas: I refuse to believe that the human race is incapable of living together in sustainable peace; not perfect peace, but organic, forever evolving and developing peace. The only thing that, in my opinion, blocks this potential is simply a belief that humans are not capable of this. And, I have to say, if that were the case there would be virtually no point in debating many things but rather leave individuals to take the law into their own hands.

In my humble opinion the greatest challenge for Christians and all other faiths really, is not to convert people, but to refocus global attention on the ability and capacity for all humans to live together in evolving peace. Let’s stop ‘religionising’ in the name of whoever, and act as responsible loving people.

If the devil truly exists (I for one choose to perceive this being figuratively) then it is trying to convince us that humans are a doomed race. I say to this being, ‘Get behind me Satan!”

      • Anthony, you know about that $19 Trillion national debt that has people like you so worried to death and confused as to why BOTH the Republicans and Democrats just keep pushing it up higher, and higher, and higher like borrowed money is going out of style—and if we do not quit borrowing—disaster is going to ensue. You are being played for a fool by two principles that Republican politicians know are so deeply ingrained in your psyche that you will believe any bullshit they feed you:

        1) The national debt is just like your family finances at home where all loans must be paid back to the person who loaned the money or bad things will happen.

        2) Paying back the money you owe is always the right and moral thing to do. Therefore, it always MUST be paid back.

Anthony. The national debt is NOT just like your family finances at home, and the government of the United States—ultimately—has no intention WHATSOEVER of paying off the base $19 Trillion, $179 Trillion, or $789 Trillion national debt.

        Now why is that:

        1) The U.S. government and every other government on Earth knows the old bedrock investing principle that you NEVER invest a penny you cannot afford to lose. Theoretically, all of the money tied up in the principle on the national debt is always going to be money someone or some foreign nation can afford to lose. The U.S. government knows that. The other nations know that.

        2) When you buy a house for $250,000 with the bank’s loaned money, you actually pay more than $1,000,000 for that house over a full 30-year loan because of the interest. The bank gets back ALL of its base $250,000 loan very early in that 30 years—so the bank almost never loses the base loan amount. If China loaned us $3 trillion 20 years ago, they have mostly likely already recouped their base loan with just our interest payments. If the American government defaults on the loan, they lose nothing other than the hoped for interest on what they loaned—which is not even real money—just a ghost of a promise.

        3) Nations do not operate with each other according to Biblical moral principles like people are encouraged to do with each other. They operate with each other according to greed, violence, and just about every base human instinct you can fathom. Just take even a casual look at world history and even Jewish Biblical history. It is a ZOO. “Paying back the money you owe is always the right and moral thing to do” means nothing in an cut-throat environment like this.

        4) The repossession (REPO) man can come to your house and REPO the car you bought if you cannot pay off the loan. Unlike that finance situation at your home, the United States is the richest country on Earth; has the largest overall military on Earth; and has an extraordinary stockpile of nuclear weapons so accurate they can fly one right through your small bathroom window. No REPO man is ever going to show up at the front door of this country if we fail to pay off a $3 Trillion loan to a foreign nation—because the ultimate price of demanding final repayment is NATIONAL EXTINCTION for the nation who loaned the money to the U.S. government.

        5) When your country has that much muscle, you can do what the basketball players (6 ft 10 in +) did to get money on a college campus nearly 50 years ago—been there—seen that. A player picks out a white male college student about 5 ft 7 in tall on the sidewalk, walks casually over to him, violates his American 3-ft social space by stepping inside it and presses the full linear height of his body tightly against the body of the short male student (all the while while being very careful to never touch or grab the short student with his hands). Then the basketball player says in a deep, gruff, and demanding tone, and this is an exact quote: “Gimme figh dollah!!!” The poor student would cough up the 5 dollars nearly every time. All the basketball player ever had to say was, ” I just asked the guy for $5, and he gave it to me. My hands never touched him.” No player was ever arrested. No player ever went to jail.

The U.S. government can do the same thing to Brazil. “Gimme 3 trillion dollah!!!”

This Anthony. This is why neither the Republicans nor the Democrats really care about how high the national debt goes. And BOTH parties push the debt sky high every year that passes and do so as if borrowing money is going out of style. They are not worried about the national debt because they have ZERO intention of ever paying back the money our country has borrowed—except for interest as long as we can tolerate it—and then default.

The Republicans bring the national debt up strictly for political purposes because they know millions of American suckers are not aware of the points I have laid out above—and they think they can use this nonawareness instill fear and win votes. Neither party cares about the national debt—not really—and they prove it every day by their actions.

        • Exactly! Neither Party cares about debt! I worry for my sons and future grandchildren! It’s what causes me disability from anxiety and depression!

        • What’s the purpose of having the calculation and labeling it debt? If it means nothing then why keep track of it? I mean your theory sounds just like a theory. Unless your at the top and handling this money yourself, you have no merit to call your theory fact because it could likely be fiction as much as you claim it to be fact. I mean that’s what speculation or theory provide. Nothing. Man you wasted a lot of effort on that. Good job though. 🙂

        • Your explanation about the US debt is ridiculous and has no basis in reality. I suggest you ask a real economist for a critique of your theory.

      • not so sure it’s a stronger stomach we need but a heart that beats and feels from our core what is right and what is not… collective hearts that know how to keep what is working and revamp what is not… more guns and raging fists in the air and threats of nuking anyone who disagree… it is these things i cannot stomach…. me thinks u have missed the essence of the entire conversation… one thing i have learned is “one cannot lighten the unconscious!”

        • Wow, a very well put together response! I agree with you completely and I think most Americans (and the rest of the world do too)

      • with that vocabulary, i would have expected to you to be more on the ball. fancy words don’t cover up a lack of facts.

      • I am not a “hater” nor am I a racist, but I do agree with Biblical, Christian values and teachings. Are these so called Progressives all that progressive or have they actually regressed to Sodom and Gomorrah mentality? Are they trying to call others hateful things just to try comfort themselves? Honestly I do love you and pray that each of you wake up before it is eternally too late. No, I was not a Trump supporter so much to begin with, but I do believe he is our best hope

        • Progressives are calling others hateful names?? Surely you jest. Trump the bully is the king of hateful names and I’m stumped that you or anyone think Christian values would be better served by a bigoted, foul mouthed, 3 times married and counting sexual deviant, who believes a woman should be categorized by her number on a scale of 1 to 10, who can’t accept any criticism without resorting to public name calling, and has brought out the bigotry of many Americans by calling for an end to “political correctness”, allowing the KKK to take off their sheets and publicly and proudly share their bigotry with the world, while other supporters post pictures if themselves holding their precious weapons and standing in front of their proudly displayed confederate flag and swastikas while calling for violence against our president and people of color, threatening to protect your candidate at his rallies with their weapons and fists with Trump’s encouragement and his offers to assist them legally if arrested. Your candidate has no plans that help anyone in this country that isn’t in his income bracket and his policies would make him and his business associates even wealthier while widening the gap between rich and poor, haves and have nots, struggling working poor and income tax evading millionaires, while Trump and the conservatives hack away at the safety net that at least keeps low income families and children from slipping through the cracks unnoticed. He wants to make income inequality, bigotry, misogyny, greed, and a total lack of caring for the less fortunate an acceptable platform by a presidential candidate, running the greatest country in the world like a business, one that feels it’s acceptable to renege on debt and threaten other countries including our strongest allies. Your savior values admiration for himself far more than the value of countries working together. He denounces science and proclaims climate change a hoax because the GOP says it is and because the democrats are in favor of policies to save our planet that may not benefit the huge corporations and force them to invest in non polluting manufacturing practices. He wants to end the EPA and any other part of government that he feels regulates business and stifles their ability to make as much money as possible regardless of how it may hurt the planet or the people. He and the GOP call for smaller government, yet want government to make decisions for citizens that affect their privacy. He blatantly lies and says what he thinks the voters want to hear even if it differs greatly with his past statements, and he will deny he said something even with video proof he in fact did say it, he doesnt care that his campaign promises have zero chance of being implemented as long as it gets him elected and spends most of his time on the campaign trail insulting his opponents, the looks of women, war heroes, disabled people, and assuring the public that his manhood is quite adequate and very functional. He has writren books that brag about his sexual conquests and how many happily married women he was able to get into his bed, proudly claiming these women were cheating for the first time just because it was Donald Trump. He publicly admits he didnt wait until his divorces were final before auditioning the next Mrs. Trump. He uses twitter and tweets like a teenage bully to attack anyone who dares to say anything negative about him, attacks a campaign rival by posting an unflattering picture of the man’s wife next to a picture of his scantily clad, beautiful, bought and paid for current wife, and announces that the only woman on the republican side running for president doesn’t deserve your vote because he doesn’t like her FACE, directs your attention to the beauty and body of his own daughter, tells the public that tough questions from a female journalist during a debate were unfair because of her menstrual cycle…..THIS is the man your Christian values tell you would be the best person to lead this country?? Seriously? What exactly are the policies of the Democrats that make you think of Sodom and Gomorrah? A woman’s right to choose? Equal rights for LGBT couples? Support of laws that prohibit picking parts of the Bible to practice bigotry and homophobia while ignoring the parts that have no place in a modern world? I don’t get it, please help me understand how your Christian faith can support a person like Donald Trump with all of his documented bigotry and racism, his disregard for the plight of the less fortunate, his ability to downplay women’s achievements if they aren’t good looking enough, his lack of concern for our planet, his refusal to discuss immigration reform in favor of spending millions of taxpayer dollars to build a wall to keep immigrants out ….but then you denounce Hillary Clinton who wants to make this country one more fair for everyone not just the wealthy, wants every citizen to have access to healthcare, wants the US to lead the world in educated young people who can leave college without lifelong debt and compete with countries who value education far more than we have, believes in everyone making a liveable wage that encourages work instead of using social services….this is your Sodom and Gomorrah candidate? I truly want to try to understand the reasoning behind Christians who think trump is their candidate.

          • So slick Willy can molest Interns and have affair after affair. Disgrace the office of president while his ” champion of woman” blamed his victims? Give me a break you fool.

            • We are all sinners, but in the end President Clinton brought out much more goodness and love, than the dark arts of the selfish, controlling, mock-christians. Clinton eventually copped up to his crimes, he repented, and changed his life. I don’t pretend to know all of the transgressions or intentions of politicians, but Clinton has done way more good on this planet and for human beings than than any Republican. ESPECIALLY the rich rights stripping, healthcare killers, and pocket filling greed monsters in charge. They all do it with smug evil grins. And you care put Bill Clinton below these disgusting Jesus defiling Pharisees. Bite me.

          • Spot on Kathleen….thank you for taking the time to put that in words, that ‘hopefully’ can be read and assimilated with an open mind, by those who appear to have shut down their hearts, to support this man who epitomizes the least moral candidate to ever open his mouth.
            I remain hopeful.

          • Wow, Kathleen. Thank you for being far more eloquent than I and saying all the things I wish I did say.

After watching those two Conventions, how anyone could think Trump is a better choice is beyond me.

And, more importantly to this thread, how anyone could call themself a Christian and follow this man is beyond me. He is a despicable human being in every sense. There is not a single Christ-like action to escape him. No sense of social justice, no humility. Just bragging and fear mongering.

And how, the fact that a convicted felon and ex Grand Wizard of the KKK has endorsed him and he has not denounced that. He stays silent because he wants and needs the votes of the very scum of the earth who live in that kind of a mindset.

I question anyone who would seek out a reason to vote for that low class gangster and I honestly don’t want to know anyone who would.

My heart fears for this kind of a threat to our Country, fir my daughters future (as the next President will pick sitting Supreme Court Justices) and the many decades (if not centuries) a Trump Presidency would set back our progressive, free nation.

          • Brava! Well said, and expressing my own disbelief at these so called Christians and their embracing of such a completely un-Christian figure. I’m not even going to call him a man.

        • Anonymous- just more bs. So what good Biblical, Christian values and teachings do you ascribe to that are not Progressive. If you see Trump as a ‘best hope’ with his total disregard for the well-being of anyone that doesn’t look white, Christian, male, like he is- that is so far from Jesus Teachings that this conversation makes you into that racist, bigoted, misguided and mean-spirited person that he is. Muslims, Mexicans, gays, women, and yes, Progressives, are people. They are within Jesus command to treat others as you would treat me. They fall under Jesus Matt: 25: 35,36. Surely you must know that Scripture. So, assuming that you do, why are you not following it- and supporting someone who definitely is not following it. A Christian proclaiming Trump is our ‘best hope’ is a hypocrite, not a true Christian, and is the reason that so many of us former Christians have left the Church.

        • Pardon me, you stone your children? Pluck out eyes? cast people into the fire? and SO MUCH MORE . . . dare to walk with Jesus – who went far beyond the law because He fulfilled it. “Biblical” is a word co-opted by those who have far too long kept us, especially females, in an oppressive, illogical, tribal patriarchal system that only reveals its craziness the minute you take one healthy step out of it . . . or are cast out of it. There is hope. Take just one step and be truly biblical – love God and love all others as yourself. . .

      • w I guess that here is where I also add “Thank you, Obama”, for revealing, even before Trump entered the political scene, that racism and bigotry still run rampant in our country and among our “representatives” in Washington. As a white, Anglo-Saxon protestant, I really did believe that things had changed a lot more than they actually had. The poster above makes my point.

        • Thinking back on my own experience in a “biblical” environment – which was terribly lonely spiritually, anti-gay, anti-women thinking for themselves, which did not ever honor the personal authenticity of each individual as God’s beloved child — let me add, to Anonymous — none of us here know each other, and we do not know you.
Please hear me say that a spiritual journey is made step by step, and questioning is a critical part of that process. I think we have been hard on you, and rude. I hear what you are saying – exactly what I would have said as a Pastor’s wife years ago, in all sincerity. Until I could take it no longer and longed for real connection (and had stayed way too long) – I didn’t realize how harsh and judgmental that system of theology was. And now, much relieved and walking in joy and acceptance of others – I also realize that ALL of us can be judgmental – at least, judgmental sounding. So, sorry for coming on strong. What I want to say is there is much love in my heart for you, and I don’t label myself a “Progressive” – just a follower of Jesus who has come to see the power and beauty of God’s love manifest everywhere – in my Muslim friends, Catholic friends, secular friends, Hindu friends . . . it is not only thrilling — it confirms my faith as a Christian and deepens it. Not sure how that works, but it does.
Much grace and love to you on the journey.

      • If only the Donald could spin as eloquently as you, we Americans really would be in a world of shite. Rave on, brother!

      • You don’t mind being called bigot and “phobe” because you are both. PLEASE, crawl back into your hole under a rock and inhale the slime you so enjoy. WE, slimeball, are the ones who will survive because you don’t have the intellect to do so …

      • Anthony C go find a rock and climb under it — you do NOT provide jobs — you steal from your employees by underfunding or cutting pensions, social programs, firings, low salaries, repeated declared bankruptcies, etc., etc. We see through your lies and we are coming after you!!!

      • While I can admire your profound ignorance, in only, that you did it eloquently. I have to heartily disagree with you, because you and your ilk do not represent the silent majority. You do in fact represent a small vocal faction that lurked in the shadows feeding on hate and ugliness, but you most certainly are not the majority. You are not the employers or life givers and in most cases are simply just the takers and you are angry because the real silent majority are tired of propping you up, holding your hand, and cleaning up behind you after every foolish, or patently ignorant thing you dream up in order to pat yourself on the back and pretend you are something you are not.

      • Take your Xanex and go back to bed, your hallucinating again! You wouldnt know progress if it jumped up and bit you in the ass. Donald Trump will trash the U S economy and get us in a shooting war with N Korea just for his own pride. He is incapable of feeling anything fo4 anyone besides himself, and if you can’t see that then pull your head out of your ass.

      • Are you nuts, sir, or are you just abysmally stupid? Apparently you ha e been living in a parallel universe where everything is upside down and backwards. Hope you are able to find help

      • My God Sir you have so eloquently nailed it! The difference between “us” and “them” could not have been stated with more truthful , factual elocution! The Progressives wallow in a Far Ranging Mirage of Political Correctness Race Baiting and all out Sleaze and Corruption and the power brokers of this Disease enjoy the Catastrophe it’s put our Country in. A perfect example is White Liberals in total Control of taking a Gentile, Kind Spiritual and Religious Segment of our Society……the American Black Race….. and turning them into a Vicious Violent Mob of. Anti-American ism. This is done via Political Power Groups who spread lies and misinformation (e.g. The Media, Tenured college Professores) And others. More Later. Thank You Anthony!

      • Finally a sane person on this page. The author is deluded over the “media version” of Trump, because most liberals and socialists don’t take to time to listen to anything that sounds “counter’ to their comfort zones, for if it is it must be irrational, racist, homophobic, or some other derogatory term t explain how “they” can’t be wrong. Trump doesn’t advocate hate, or racism, or isolationism! He advocates COMMON SENSE! The illegal aliens running amok in this country are not only wreaking havok on our infrastructure, they pose a huge security risk to terrorism, not to mention the crime our current POTUS lets them get away with sans deportation. Now, he is bringing in an unbelievable amount of Syrian refugees, unchecked, unvetted, uncontrolled! Have any of you been monitoring the events overseas concerning the refugees in other countries? It’s chaos! And a HUGE security risk again! Under this POTUS, there have been 162 mass shootings reported, more than three times the last five Presidents combined!

Trump is NOT the problem, he’s the answer, argueably not everyone’s first choice, but if we don’t take steps to get away from the same old political horse trading and posturing, like we will with HER, there will be nothing left of this country that our Founding Fathers would recognize!

        • Very well said. Thank you for your response. I agree with you and really do not understand this guy’s crap. Talk about dividing a country.

            • You can’t hate on millions of American Christians every day and not be the very definition of a bigot. I’ll troll this phony POS untill I’m blue in the face and not really care about offending his minions.

        • Well said. And quite frankly when it comes to bigotry and intolerance, you won’t find a better example of it than John phony Pavlovitz. A fame obsessed fraud trying to draw attention to himself with his daily whining about American Christians as apparently the world’s epicenter of LGBT persecution. Of course you’ll never hear him rise to the defense of gays in the Muslim world even as they are set ablaze or thrown off buildings.

      • Agreed! I am not at all crazy to have Trump but she is even more scary to me and will sweep her wrongdoings under the carpet. She is more evil in my opinion. Trump may be coarse in what he says, but so much of it is true, if you look into it. he is bringing out some of the things our government doesn’t want you to know. He’s got people talking instead of being passive and ignorant.

      • Right on! Wasting my time reading John Pavlovitz’s tripe was worth it just to get to your comment…heartfelt, honest, and on target! Please share!

    • Unfortunately you forgot to state both sides of the coin. If people are being criticized, let’s give both sides equal press.

    • I am more afraid of what Hillary will do. She is way less qualified than Trump. She is a criminal. We already have a disgrace in office now we don’t need another named Hillary

      • less qualified? surely you joke. Hillary has experience in government. And whatever you hate her for does not take away the fact that she is way more qualified to be President than Trump ever will.

        • Obama is guilty of treason for his not disclosing facts about the Iran Nuclear deal and for giving our missile silo locations to a foreign entity, NATO. Hillary is just as qualified for prison as he is!

    • Victoria and if you are frightened by that you must be really terribly uncontrollably an unspeakably frightened by Hilary becoming The Commander in Chief

    • Yes, there is always going to be people who can rant and rave, but those that follow them, are the biggest threat. The evil multiplies like wild fire. It is nothing good about it so I call it what it is, EVIL. Also what strikes me as strange is people are not getting the gist of what is really happening to mankind as a whole that has already been forewarned in the Holy Scriptures. Christians (people that follow Christ Jesus) know exactly what is going on. We know time is winding up. We want to be ready when Jesus comes back and we will be ready. But we don’t want anyone to be lost. So we tell as many as we can to give their life to Jesus and they will be saved. I come to you, whoever is reading this to make a choice and give your life to Christ Jesus which is the only way to be saved. It is a CHOICE people have to make. I come to you in LOVE and I hope you read the Scriptures for yourself. May God have favor on you and bless you in Christ Jesus’ name. Amen.

    • So if you oppose massive illegal immigration and support paying close attention to applicants from countries with ties to terror then you are a fascist xenophobic sheet wearing nazi. Yet you won’t offer a word of criticism towards a culture which reduces women to property and sexual slavery, throws homosexuals off of buildings or sets fire to them in cages, saws the heads off of Christians, hijacks airplanes and flies them into crowded buildings, massacres homosexuals in nightclubs, sets off pressure cooker bombs on crowded city streets, commits knife attacks in shopping malls and forces women and children to commit suicide bombing attacks.
Your not just a teensy bit apprehensive about allowing said ideology into the country even after 9/11 and the Orlando nightclub shooting. Just lone wolves right? Nothing to do with said radical ideology. But the problem is Trump supporters who haven’t killed, maimed, tortured, beheaded or blown up anybody . This denial of the clear and present danger posed by mass, unregulated Muslim immigration places many liberals in dubious company alongside flat earthers, Holocaust deniers and those who think the moon landings were a hoax. Yes I know the vast majority of Muslims are peaceful but it only takes one radical loon to send 50 innocents to their death. Go Trump

    • Amen to that, right on! Not only those who have raised him to such heights, but those in power who defend him and what he stands for! I keep thinking about Hitler and how he came to power…by stoking the resentment and anger in the people, all in the name of bringing back national pride after the devastation of world war 1…

    • Very well said! Our already Great country will continue to turn into a nation of evil and hatred for all who disagree with those in his cabinet and the cult like followers who defend pres Trump, or should I say pres Bannon? I seriously question who is charge. We must continue to fight with everything that’s in us to not allow the carnage that Trump and his ilk are causing.

    • Now look at the Republican Congress they say nothing and do nothing but if Obama just takes a day off they raise holy hell!!!

  2. In some ways, he’s a genius – or at least his scriptwriters are. They’ve generated a product that reflects, as you say, the secret thoughts of the masses, thus guaranteeing his appeal to them. No wonder they vote for him; he says what they are really thinking.

But in some ways, US politics has reflected US society every election year since mass media took over this sort of thing. Quite simply, the presidential elections are simply a media circus, with the most entertaining person, the one who can throw the most vitriol, the one who is uppermost in the public eye due to their shenanigans, being the winner. For too long, your politics (meaning American politics; I’m in the UK) has depended on this sort of rubbish and in some ways it’s no wonder things are in the state they are in now. Over here things are no better; at least over there you have two different political parties. In the UK we have three major parties, none of whom are worthy of election.

And I agree. Heaven help the world if this clown Trump gets elected. Skill in media circus does not necessarily translate into skill in international politics.

Although, to be fair, it’s probably closely related 😉

    • You have lost your country. Trump is leading the largest number of VOTERS in American history because he is speaking to our desire not to lose ours.

Dhimmitude oozes from your pores. And it has rendered your views IRRELEVANT to us.

Good luck getting out alive and away from what is devouring your institutions and your very lifelines to civil society.

      • You call what you advocate for “civilized”. Not in my world. Fear, racism, war mongering, anti women’s rights, anti religious differences, anti refugees, anti . . . the list goes on, and just like Hitler’s list . . . one day your name will appear on it because you will no longer suit Donald’s criteria for what is a ‘civilized’ society. You better start building your bunker and brick wall today before he outs you.

  3. It’s a level of ugly I’ve always known was there, but its extent blows my mind. I find that people I thought I knew are actually willing to back this cesspool of toxicity simply because “he says what nobody else dares to say.”

I remain convinced that he is totally unelectable, and it appears the establishment of the Republican Party has a shot at blocking his nomination and forcing an open convention. What kind of candidate will come out of that . . . and what kind of Republican Party will come out of that is anybody’s guess – but we’ve been shown some pretty awful parts of ourselves by the mirror that is his candidacy.

    • Donald Trump has shown me anything about me. That isn’t his responsibility nor his mission.

The Country is in a shambles and he’s of the informed opinion that a president should address this dire situation.

You disagree. Your perogative. Now, sit back and watch what happens when the convention does not get brokered and Trump smashes Bolshevik Bernie, Slow Joe Biden or, god forbid she’s not indicted, Hillary Clinton.

No one wants to be holding the bag in DC when the financial crisis of 2008– -Part 2 (oh that) hits home in 2017. The only candidate who will be able to stomach the job is Trump. The rest? They want to play Santa Claus. But here is a clue: All the money is gone and none of the other candidates are campaigning as if they understand that simple truth.

And you my dear simple fellow citizen are going to be devoured and spit out, trying to figure out what to tell your descendants (do you have any?) happened when there was such “hope” when the bottom fell out.

Have a good rest of 2016. You’re gonna need it.

  4. Dear John: A powerful example of non-dualistic processing while holding truth and accountability where it belongs. We so often forget that working to be non-dualistic in our thinking doesn’t mean we don’t advocate or hold truth forefront. Kay Klinkenborg

  5. It is extremely scary. There are people in my life who I thought were intelligent and now I’m not sure how to think about them. I have lost respect for so many, realizing that I really didn’t know them at all. How can it be that he even has a chance? It’s like a nightmare that can possibly come true. God help us if it does.

  6. You’re right, John. The ugliness in our hearts needs to be exposed and denounced before it can be eliminated. Here’s how one of my favorite Christian writers expressed it:

“The muddy river-bed must be stirred in order to purify the stream. In moral chemicalization, when the symptoms of evil, illusion, are aggravated, we may think in our ignorance that the Lord hath wrought an evil; but we ought to know that God’s law uncovers so-called sin and its effects, only that Truth may annihilate all sense of evil and all power to sin.”

I have to trust that the Holy Spirit is at work, exposing ugliness in order to purify thought and actions and redeem our foolishness. Jesus said regarding hypocrisy “there is nothing covered that shall not be revealed”.

Thanks for your excellent blog posts.

  7. Pingback: Thank You, Donald Trump | Breaking Free From The Matrix

  8. Thank you, John Pavloviz, for giving a conceptual framework for my intense revulsion towards Trump and my disbelief that he could have even one supporter. Most Americans, as it is now finally being revealed by a Trump obsessed media, recognize a total jerk when they see one. I was starting to really worry.

  9. Along with the ugliness….let’s not forget the accompanying fear and pain accompanying it; I saw a study recently where middle-aged white men are dying at an accelerated rate. This is a group rocked by the demographic earthquake in the United States, a group seeing women, LGBTQ folks and minorities increasingly in places of power that were formerly the exclusive province of heterosexual, largely Protestant white men.

And who is Mr. Trump’s core constituency? Heterosexual, largely Protestant white men. Donald Trump is their lifeboat in a turbulent sea – and desperate people cling to a lifeboat

  10. Thanks John,
You have so eloquently given voice to my sentiments and I am sure of so many others. I don’t think it could have been said any better. Blessings.

  11. Powerful…
However, I fear that people who have a “Trump” sticker or yard sign don’t even realize that I have defined them as a racist, bigot, bully …and I’ve never met them.

  12. If video killed the radio star, then social media, 24 hour sensationalist news channels and tabloid press, killed robust and honest politics with integrity. There are many DT’s around whose egos are being continuously fed and stroked. But, at the end of the day, we all have a share of responsibility in their making.

This political era is a mother of a wake up call to all humanity. Apathy, reluctance to get involved, to get properly informed and become active members of the socio-political dimension of community living, has resulted in loose cannons emerging from the four corners of the world. It’s a cliche, I know, but knowledge is power and living in the absence of it is dangerous and should carry a warning.

Socio-political apathy is breeding a culture of ignorance and of citizens who are highly susceptible to being easily influenced by spin, false information and hysteria. Democracy has become less, voice of the people, and more, voice of a few loud mouth unhinged political media celebrities.

If democracy is to be rekindled and survive, it must be better understood and exercised by all. Simply voting at election time and, effectively, handing all your democratic rights to a select few members, is not democracy; it is a slippery slope toward dictatorship by consent.

Jesus Christ was a first class rebel! He absolutely understood the politics of his time and certainly did not remain silent about what he would have considered to be an injustice. He actively encouraged people to think critically and outside the box. He challenged stereotypes, and challenged authority if need be; dispelling myths and breaking with tradition in order to raise awareness and make a point.

We often sidestep this important historical figure. The rebel Jesus, passionate about bringing the social justice agenda to the forefront of politics and citizenship. Passionate about teaching positive social values, not fearing human differences and diversity and of instilling the concept of shared responsibility to the social conscience. This is the Jesus that teaches us to get off our backsides and enact our Christianity, not sit back and simply pray that God will sort it all out for us. This is the Jesus whose example we can absolutely aspire to be.

  13. Thank you for telling the truth. I am amazed at the hatred that is expressed by the people of this country. It is disheartening to say the least. What are we teaching our children and grandchildren, and what kind of future are we leaving them? I do not support Donald Trump, but I have the right to say that, even if others will say hateful things because I do.

    • I hope you are kidding……The democrats are the name slinging people. Apparently all Trump supporters are racist, gun toting, uneducated, redneck, bigoted idiots according to the liberal crowd. I have news for you people, I am none of those, and neither are most of the other trump supporters. That just the only way you people can fight back.

  14. Folks. I am exhausted and out of answers. Even when someone does have answers, no one listens to them. I think future historians will look back on our current time in American history and try to answer the question:

“What destroyed the United States of America and caused its permanent downfall?”

Answer: Invention and use of the Internet. That will be the verdict.

    • Absolutely true! 30 years ago we had 3 broadcast news networks and our local newspaper, and maybe a few opinionated magazines from where we got our news. We never ever heard name calling of candidates. You might hear that someone isn’t being truthful but you never heard anyone being called a liar. The office of POTUS was respected whether you agreed with his policies or not. Today we have instant news and no requirement that what you read is even remotely accurate, and along with every news story are the opinions of hundreds of other readers. Just in the 2008 election there was a story about someone calling someone a liar and it was big news for days since it was unprecedented to have someone use that word. On one hand people who call themselves non racist, non bigoted believe they voted for Obama and that gave them the right to criticize him, on the other hand there are those who would not even consider voting for him but don’t seem to have a valid reason why. And everyone can seek out websites of like minded people and any negative story or blatant lie grows wings and soars if enough people read it and pass it along to other like minded folks. Remember Joe Wilson saying “you lie” to Obama during an address to congress? This was shocking to many at the time but it would nothing today. Today we rely on sites like Snopes.com, PolitiFact or Factcheck.com to verify what we’ve read or heard and even then you can’t be sure. Video of a candidate’s actual statements or a book written by a candidate is important for the truth, but even then trump gets away with claiming he never said it or it was taken out of context or photoshopped. I wish there was a way of holding journalists accountable for blatant lies but we are too aware of freedom of speech.

  15. @Anthony C: I get up at MIDNIGHT PACIFIC because my users are in Europe….I work until 2:30 PM, get home at 5:30, logon one more time to check before getting to bed at 6 PM and starting all over again. And I am a 1958 Baby.

I work 12-18 hour days days because that is the nature of 24/7, 365 Information Technology. I have been called on Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas, New Years’ Eve and New Years Day. I have done more all-nighters in data centers than you ever will, with users and managers screaming for statuses every five minutes because their system is down or something is going on with their database.

I pay 28% Federal Taxes and 10% State – so I am NO LAZY MOOCHER WANTING FREE STUFF, THANK YOU VERY MUCH.

I happen to think that children, the elderly, veterans, the disabled and ANYONE ELSE NEEDING HELP should be helped because they are HUMAN BEINGS.

99 44/100% of us are ONE accident, ONE job loss, ONE chronic illness, ONE unforeseen circumstance away from poverty and homelessness.

  16. I’m almost to the point of not talking politics to anyone, and just getting on with the joy of living. The current discourse is so toxic, that I find it emotionally draining.

I think we will look back at this time in shock: how could these views be accepted by anyone?

    Anthony C wrote:

“We will survive and your kind will not— because you don’t have the stomach for doing what must be done and will be done right in your front yards.”

Dude, this is the kind of talk that is frightening.

  17. Dear writer: I support this message. It’s usually in the comments section where you will the most bigoted, racist people. Here they can hide behind pseudo names whilst spitting the most vile venom. Sometimes it’s hidden in thoughtful, educated writing and sometimes it’s by people who clearly could give a good got darn. I am thankful that I fear nothing! It’s laughable because I am one of few that knows why. Real America, the one that disguises hate as ignorance, you can no longer hide your dirty laundry. Your grandparents where fed by the breast milk of my ancestors but yet you hate to see me in power. Your land that you have stolen, yes stolen — It does not belong to you. Criminals of the highest regard. My people have been asleep for a very long time. Guess what?? They are waking up. You don’t stand a chance. You racist white America, are fighting for survival. I understand your desperation. Tell them why your mad!!

      • If you wish to expose the real masters of the USA look no further that the power behind the weapons industry. Before the ” honourable” motivation of toppling Sadam Hussain, the weapons industry were sitting upon billions and billions of dollars worth of weaponry fast becoming outdated while their production lines were producing ever more sophisticated weaponry which would add to the growing stock pile of redundant armaments. What better than to create an excuse to get rid of them all by unloading them all on Iraq and then, unconcerned about the devastation they had caused, walk away to continue Derek Kcreating more monstrous weapons, racking up more enormous profits , which would ultimately be used to support whichever politician/ s would permit them to again unload them on some other poor defenceless country. ” defenceless ?” Russia isn’t and they have been more aggressive than any recently and have you noticed any American bully boy suggesting they be taken on?

  18. For all of you that are soooo disgusted with Trump and his supporters…
Maybe you should actually take a real, serious look at who we (his supporters) are, before you cast these judgements on us of “Racist!”, “Bigots!” and “people full of hate”. Have you been to or talked to people who actually go to a Trump rally or support Trump? Or is this your opinion you developed from continually watching what they show you on the TV (which 90% is owned and operated by the party that is against Trump)????
First and foremost, I am an atheist. So I don’t believe in bringing God into the picture or anyone who claims that they represent “God”… their opinion doesn’t hold any weight. My imaginary friend holds as much weight as yours does when it comes to politics.
I am not a racist. I am not a bigot. I am not a hater. I know these things because of who I am as a person… yet I support Trump. Supporting his political beliefs doesn’t change who I am. I have been called ignorant and mentally challenged for following Trump… well, I am very comfortable with my mental abilities as I retired from being an instructor for advanced electronics systems on classified government technologies for engineers.
So maybe judging all of us Trump supporters by what you see on TV isn’t the best thing… even judging Mr. Trump by what you see on TV isn’t either.
Everything the OP claims about Trump or his “supporters”, I have yet to witness firsthand. I have been to a rally. All of the people there were your typical next door neighbor, suburban voter types… hard working, normal midwest Americans without an ounce of hatred, racism or bigotry.
What they were concerned about and Trump is concerned about in the speech he gave are normal things to every American… Jobs, economy, immigration, health care, etc… No one was hating anyone…. No one was being racist (there were many races there)…
The whole idea that Trump is leading some horrible, backwards behavior movement, that hates and discriminates… is a total farce! It’s completely made up BS by the media and the OP and those who automatically agree with her have bought into and sold out against.
Wake up people! Stop believing your news! The reason Trump is popular and is winning in every poll is because people can see past what is told to them. They aren’t buying that he’s racist or a bigot just because the TV show repeats it daily. They are listening to what he is actually saying and it’s making sense. He has the political establishment on the fence and they hate it! We, the people, are sick and tired of our government and it’s time for some changes. Trump is about to make those changes for the betterment of the American people… you will see. He doesn’t have any evil intentions.
But… if you are stuck on being liberal or ultra religious…. he is not going to be to your liking no matter what he does… so continue to hate him and his supporters and tell everyone else that you don’t like him because he promotes hate. Ironically, I have seen far, far more hate and racism from Trump protesters than you will ever see at any of Trumps rallys. Jeeeze!
For any and every example you have to state that Trump is racist, bigoted or mysogenist…. there are many others that contradict.
He’s mysogenist? Why does he have more female executives than male? Why do they earn above average pay scale?
He doesn’t like Mexicans? He has production in Mexico and has thousands of Mexican employees. Again… all treated well.
What about Muslims… he hates muslims? No! He has several businesses in Muslim countries, has Muslim executives, and even friends who are Muslim. But… you don’t hear that on TV. He does however want to make sure that you, your family, and your fellow American citizens are safe from radical Muslim attacks here in the USA. Why doesn’t this make sense to everyone? Why wouldn’t you be on board with this? Why would someone be so dead set on making certain that 200 thousand refugees (almost all younger men) get processed into our country in a hurry? Why is that more important than the safety of our families? This doesn’t equate to being bigoted, racist or full of hatred towards anyone, no matter how many times your TV says so, miss OP.
Trump isn’t the boogie man you have made him out to be… in fact, he is spending his own time, money and effort (and continually being slandered for it) to do something great for this country. He honestly wants to make a change for the American people…. to take back some of what was stolen from the people by the government, big corporations and banks. Which in my opinion… is a pretty cool idea. Way better than becoming socialists or letting the next “Clinton-Obama” into office (who we all know is a liar and owned by Goldman Sachs)…. wouldn’t you agree?
I am going to be voting for best thing for the American people and our society in general….. not my religious beliefs, not for a “political party”, not because of a skin color, sex or race, not because someone wants to give me freebies….. we need fixes. Trump will surround himself with the best team to get things done and he will have high expectations for them. He is a leader and will make things happen.
Oh… and as for the “wall” thing… that should have been taken care of in the 70s. The border wall was actually passed and funded but never built. This isn’t a new idea. We aren’t the first to build a secure border… it’s been necessary for a long time. We just have been too fiscally irresponsible and afraid of the backlash if we did it.
Sorry OP for ruining your pitty me post… but Trump will be a much better president than Obama ever could… and he isn’t going to try to shove his Muslim religion down our throats like big O, either.
    Starman

    • This is SO SCARY. Talk about crazy making. Imagine people saying – Did you here Hitler’s speech this morning? Did you hear what he said about Jews? What? He really likes Jews? I don’t get it – because what he SAID was . . ” Talk about denial.

    • Followed your post with a thoughtful mind, then you had to say at the very end that the big o is shoving his Muslim religion down our throats. Then I knew the rest of your post hadate to be taken with a grain of salt. Starting from that point, you really must drop the “Obama is a muslim” bull. Because he spend a few childhood years in Indonesia he is more familiar with the Muslim faith but he was raised Christian and is still Christian, Michelle Obama is Christian and they are raising their daughters as Christians. The Obama’s are fantastic parents and are not going to subject those girls to Christian Church and other programs to keep up a charade for his temporary job.
The US is greatly responsible for creating ISIS and what is happening in Syria. We created the mess and we need to help the innocent escape the mess we made. Donald trumps way would be to “bomb the shit out of them” and torture them for information, even more gruesome than the previous torture we engaged in before it was banned. Women and children get killed? Oh well. Trump wants to use that tactic to get to the radicals. Where did you hear the majority of refugees would be young adult men? I heard the opposite, mainly women and children.
We have always been a humanitarian country and how can we expect other European countries to accept refugees fleeing from the situation we created but we aren’t accepting any? Finally, how could trumps ban on Muslims ever be implemented? A person’s religious beliefs are not something that can’t be hidden. Just because a person comes from thevmiddke east doesn’t automatically make them Muslim. Trump wants to cancel travel visas for anyone from the region. There is a very large Christian population in Egypt. So an Egyptian Christian would be banned also since their religion can’t be verified. So I guess it will be “if you look middle eastern, stay away”.
Trump has only talked of two policies with any detail, the banning of Muslims and the Mexican wall. The wall has been planned like you said for some time, but it was certainly not funded, which is why trump loves saying Mexico will pay for it. What is the backlash you speak of? It’s the billionaires and corporate CEO’S who would scream the loudest if their cheap labor can’t get back into the country. Have you ever heard trump even mention going after the companies who hire them? No because he’s one of them and his friends are others. Trump will never build that wall, doesn’t intend to but the first time he said it he got a rousing response and is now just saying what he must to get elected.
No matter how much he says he’ll get jobs back, he has never said how. For everything else he says he’ll do he provides no details. His is a campaign of fear, he tries to make us believe that unless we elect him were all gonna die or be living under sharia law. The radical terrorists, when asked what they want from America, say “get out of our country and quit killing us”. But trump will not want to do that and let some other country like China get the oil. But for every radical islamic terrorist we kill, we create many more in his place and when women and children are killed, even more. We can’t let trump play army in the middle east with American lives. Trump was actually a draft dodger himself so he really has no idea what’s at stake. Our presence and drones are making it far worse.
Lastly, Donald trump is NOT self funding his campaign, contrary to what he said or what you’ve been told, in fact there are those who believe he’s on track to actually make a profit from it. He uses his hotels, his planes, but the campaign is billed for every dime, including paying his children’s expenses. There is a line item on the expense report that looks curiously like he’s paying himself a salary.
I’m sick of trump being called the candidate who will keep us safe, that’s so far from the truth. He pisses off our allies and when they criticize him he says well I guess we won’t be friends or start a twitter war and then say “he started it” like a 10 yr old on the playground.
This is the person you think is best to protect your family?

    • So Starman – Do you still stand by everything you wrote here a year ago? Because I think we “naysayers” have been proven right over and over and over again these last 5 months. This country is doomed.

  19. So what WOULD HAPPEN should I take my 6’2″ melanin-enhanced self to one of Mr. Trump’s rallies? WHAT WOULD BE THE TOTAL ELAPSED TIME BEFORE I WOULD BE BEATEN???? ANSWER ME THAT – and GIVE ME A ___________________REAL ANSWER________, don’t just dismiss my concerns

And, let me tell you this – I GET UP AT MIDNIGHT PACIFIC 7 DAYS A WEEK; I work until 4 AM, then I leave for TWO TRAINS AND A BUS to work; I’m at the office until 2:30 PM Pacific, get home at 5:30 PM, logon one more time before getting to bed at 6 PM.

I have been called on Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas and New Year’s – I work 12-18 hour days, I work US holidays because they’re NOT holidays in the rest of the world. I have pulled MORE ALL NIGHTERS in data centers THAN YOU EVER WILL, recovering someone’s Oracle database at 2 AM with managers and users screaming for statuses every 5 minutes

24/7, 365 is the nature of the beast in Information Technology.

ASK THE WOMAN in North Carolina with the Bernie Sanders stickers on her car who wasn’t towed by a _____________TRUMP______ supporter

    Really.

  20. How do you suppose you can accomplish your agenda of “everyone living in peace” when you the offenders and doers of heinous evil won’t come to the table? By taking them into your home when they arrive as a “refugee”……….? Don’t fool yourselves with your misguided thoughts of world peace when we have a population of people who want everyone in the world dead who doesn’t believe as they do. Sometimes what I hear from left progressives makes me wonder how soon it will be before they join this group

This in the news in the UK today
All of Scotland’s major Muslim groups declined to attend the launch of a campaign against violence and discrimination directed towards the Ahmadi sect, as well as the Paris and Brussels terror attacks.
Representatives of the local Sikh and Jewish communities, and the Church of Scotland’s inter-faith group were all present, alongside local politicians, representatives of Police Scotland and Glasgow’s lord provost.
However, representatives of the Glasgow Central Mosque and the Muslim Council of Scotland announced at the last moment they would not be coming, the Guardian reports.
Abdul Abid, a representative of the local Ahmadiyya community, said: “We are not asking them to stand united in faith with us but to stand united against extremism. If Glasgow Central Mosque is against extremism, they should be here today.”
    http://www.breitbart.com/…/muslims-groups-fail-attend-anti…/

  21. We are angry and bitter and resentful because of our leaders. They choose to borrow money to the Federal Reserve, a group that has nothing to do with the government, and now we are in debt up to our eyeballs. We are taxed ridiculous amounts to PAY THEM. We work two and three jobs and never see our children. They go to public schools and learn common core nonsense. We have role models like Beyonce making videos smashing cars and exhibiting hate because she is part of an agenda set up to confuse and separate us. Trump may not say things in a polished or political way–but he wants us to be a strong, united country to be proud of. We are currently a laughing stock. Is he perfect–nope–but he is not part of the current path–which is leading no where good.

  22. Yes, John. He only made us aware that the emperor has no clothes.

But the solution remains the same. And it lies within the Church.

If my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land. — 2 Ch 7:14

It’s we Christians who must give up our pride, fall on our faces before God in prayer, and repent of our sins. Then God will heal our land.

    • And do you see that happening with the Yazidi people – who are nearly exterminated by ISIS, the “most targeted” among all whom they target. . . . you are hard-pressed to answer such a question from the point of view of these beautiful Christian people who are continually slaughtered and that while praying constantly to the same God. We need to be very careful appropriating every word of the Scriptures as literally and personally applicable to ourselves when it clearly is not proving so to thousands of equally believing children, adults, and families. To be an authentic Christian means we trust in God – not that we have all the answers, or claim easy answers, to inexplicably heart-rending, tragic, human situations. Every single life everywhere in the world has equal and precious value. Calls to repentance in Christian history were made by prophets who were not at all popular, understandably – but, called and directed by God, spoke the painful truth. As a global humanitarian, I see God’s voice being casually and manipulatively co-opted by many today in the face of mass tragedies – both natural disasters and man-made tragedies as a result of terrorism, war, etc. In most of those situations, what is so obviously needed is that other, primary, God-driven response — massive outpouring of love – unconditional, sacrificial love. I’m for that.

  23. The person who wrote this is a fool.
This has been going on for generations with the left wing radicals and in our higher education.
The right is now feed-up with it, over the top with it and is now giving it back and taking it back
So shutdown with you cry baby BS

    • What are you taking back? I’m generally interested in what trump supporters see in him. Do you really see a great potential leader or do you just despise hillary so much you see things in trump that just arent there? He has expressed very little policy and his biggest promises are a wall paid for by Mexico and banning muslims….both of which have zero chance of being implemented…and he offers no explanation of how he can accomplish them, just telling us to trust him because he’s used to manipulating and buying anything he wants. I understand those who are tired of politics as usual and want change…but Donald Trump? What are his qualities that would help us and not hurt us and our standing in the world? Would it not be better to direct your voice towards those who have the knowledge of foreign affairs, domestic policy and what can actually be accomplished and let them know what the people demand and expect from them and fight to make our biggest freedom….our vote…..available to ALL and not legislated away by politicians afraid of that vote. But you would rather put your faith in a man who lacks knowledge but claims to know everything, lacks experience but claims leading a country is the same as leading a corporation, and promises the impossible but lacks the decorum to keep our allies close. That’s not a scary proposition for you?

      • Other than Trump, who is on the ballot that will change one damn thing? The politicians are happy with the way things are, but the people aren’t.

  24. I’ve been surfing on-line more than 3 hours nowadays,
but I by no means discovered any interesting article like yours.

It is lovely price enough for me. In my view, if all website owners and bloggers made just
right content as you probably did, the web shall be much more useful than ever before.

  25. I don’t think Trump opened up the flood gates for common people to spew garbage. People were doing this well before he came on the scene. Look at the other riots that occurred often before this election year. Look at the gay agenda and the hatred toward Christians by those who put that agenda forth. Look at the cop killings and other killings and groups openly calling for violence in the street, Look at the bloggers who ridicule those who oppose their opinion. look at violent video games, graphic song lyrics spewing hatred and anti female, anti God garbage. All this and more existed and was openly displayed in the streets, media, online and more well before Trump came on the political scene. You write well but you are short sighted and immature in this view. You dislike Trump and looking for someone to blame. It’s a bad perspective.

    • “Look at the gay agenda and the hatred towards Christians by those who put that agenda forth”.
Please tell me when LGBT rights became a hatred towards Christians. You do know don’t you that there are tens of thousands of gay people who are devoutly Christian and live as a gay person AND a Christian. Those who claim there is a war on Christianity are either ignorant, homophobic or paranoid. Why do so many continue to believe and repeat that people HATE Christians? It makes no difference who or where you worship, but your Christian beliefs should not become part of our laws or be considered when writing laws, that’s all.

    • I agree with the above comment! Trump is used to speaking the truth, that is unusual. Hilliary lies about everything. reads whatever is written for her, She sounds polished that way, but could care less what she’s saying. Its what the group she is speaking to today wants to hear. Trump truly cares about our country and wants us to come together for the good of the country. We need to have morals and care about each other again, respect our police men and women, our military, and take care of the veterans, get rid of Obamacare, and pay our bills. When Ben Carsen endorsed Trump, I knew he was the right one to give us back the pride in our country and each other!!

      • Politifact, a Pulitzer Prize-winning website, did research and came to the conclusion that Hillary Clinton is the most truthful candidate; Donald Trump was the most untrustworthy.

The fact that you believe the lie that “she lies!” proves the point that no matter what someone says, if they are constantly accused of lying people will believe they lie, no matter what the proof reveals. Smh.

      • Ben Carson is a flaming idiot. How that man ever got to be a neurosurgeon is absolutely beyond comprehension. I’d never let him near me for medical purposes – he’d probably give me a lobotomy by mistake. That does not speak well for his ability to discern a good presidential candidate from a piss-poor one.

  26. Does Donald J. Trump truly wish to ___govern___? To make careful, considered decisions, weigh options, consider opposition, listen to advisers, even those he may not agree with?

Or, will Mr. Trump feel about the Presidency as follows….

“After a time, you may find that having is not so pleasing a thing, after all, as wanting. It is not logical, but it is often true.” – Spock

  27. Before I commented on this vomitus, I wanted to first read it several times to ensure that I grasped the entire meaning. Alas, those are 5 precious minutes I will never get back.
Mr. Pavlovitz, I must preface my comments with an objective assessment of you: You, sir are a historically ignorant, myopically uninformed, whiney, “Me-generation”, safe space-seeking sophomoric intellect.
You are SERIOUSLY crediting/blaming Donald Trump for opening your eyes to the bad in our country? Were you sucking on a pacifier during the Tawana Brawley fiasco? Have you never heard of “Reverend” Al Sharpton?
While Donald Trump routinely shoves his foot deep inside his mouth, your hollow claim that he exhibits demeanor is proof of only one thing – you are a slave to the liberal media. I WATCHED…and LISTENED to his entire speech in which he announced his candidacy for President of the United States. He referenced illegal immigrants for roughly 2 minutes of a 50+ minute speech. On either side of his reference to them being murderers and rapists, he qualified his comments, making sure to be clear that he was not referring to all Mexicans, or even to all illegal immigrants from Mexico. But the liberal media and mindless lemmings like you latched onto the externally abrasive words alone and applied the worst possible interpretation t them. I challenge you to find any number of former or current employees of Donald Trump who would label him sexist, racist, or a bigot. Seriously…give it a try.

You fear that this world may not survive a Trump Presidency? You think he is the least qualified, and least knowledgeable of any candidate to get this far in the electoral process? SERIOUSLY? Have you not paid attention to the CURRENT President? Were there such “Black Lives Matter” riots under any other President in your short life? When have you ever seen such racial division fomented by a sitting President? I am over 50 and I haven’t. Every single time an African-American has been shot (whether by a cop or some other non-black – like George Zimmerman), this President has jumped on the knee-jerk bandwagon and has stoked the fires or racial division by rushing to judgment, rather than allow the legal processes HE swore to uphold run their course first. In disputes between whites and blacks that bore no motive of race, he has interjected himself into the discussion, devoid of knowledge of the facts, and has exacerbated the situation.
Americans are fed up with entrenched self-serving politicians who perpetuate dishonesty and cronyism, all the while sucking the dollars out of the pockets of hard-working Americans to give to those who not only don’t work, but won’t.
Yours is a generation of entitlement. Your generation wants wants wants…whines…whines…whines…but doesn’t give…doesn’t sweat, and doesn’t appreciate contributing to better our society.
As for Mr. Trump. He has paid for nearly his entire campaign out of his own pocket. Only recently has he begun to receive donations from a base that is eager to see him supplant those in power whose idiocy has pushed America down the path it has gone for nearly a generation.
I suspect from your picture that you don’t actually remember Ronald Reagan. On the day of his inauguration, after 444 days of captivity in Iran, 52 Americans were released. Not because the Iranians wanted to be humanitarian. Not because they had achieved any political goal…it was because someone with BALLS (speaking figuratively here) was President, and they feared he would make their day a bad one.
President Obama is an impotent leader. Hillary Clinton would be equally so. She has ZERO positive accomplishments to show from being Secretary of State, and multiple failures. She put Americans in harm’s way by compromising secret data on a server she broke the law in using. In Benghazi, people DIED as a direct result of her lack of leadership.
Trump will make mistakes. He might even piss off a few people…but he WON’T scare Americans who look forward tot he return of the day when anyone putting out a good effort was rewarded and the lazy ones did without…in fact…there were so few lazy ones that we were actually solvent.
If you fear a President who will make our allies AND enemies take notice…if you fear a President who works to trim fraud in our welfare systems…if you fear a President who will balance trade deficits, and who will not allow countries like China and Mexico thumb their noses up at our sovereignty…then by all means vote for Hillary.

But spare the Internet your baseless…whining tripe of a dissertation of comprehensive blame on Trump. And while you are at it…slap your parents for never disciplining you…grow a layer of skin that will allow you to discern sarcasm and hyperbole from literal speech, and learn a little more about even the late 20th century before you suggest that Anything Trump has done was somehow groundbreaking with regard to racism, bigotry, etc. You don’t have a clue what you are talking about.
But I gotta give you credit…you sure are convincing…to other lemmings who also possess no individual thought.

    • When I got to the part of your tirade where you state “liberal media”, I laughed. The “liberal media” is a figment of your imagination. There is no liberal media. If there is, tell me where to go. I’m sick and tired of the RWNJ websites that flood the Internet and feed you the drivel you worship and of which which you write.

You still believe the Iranians released our hostages because Ronnie was tough? No. Not even close. Google it.

President Obama has done nothing to fan the flames of racism; rather, the racists found one another via the Internet and have banded together to accuse our CiC of racism. Of course they will accuse our first Black president of being racist! Funny, but educated Americans don’t see it that way, it’s mostly the low-info voter who despise him, simply for being black. Why else would members of Congress meet and agree to sabotage everything this president puts forth, even if it was detrimental to our country? Hmm.

Nothing, absolutely nothing you say is fact. Benghazi? A tragedy in which blame was placed with the attackers, and indirectly the military leaders who wasted time on trivial decisions. Period. Deal with it. Trey Gowdy lost. Darrell Issa lost. As far as Trump paying for his own campaign, I suppose it’s easy to do that when you ask for donations for worthwhile causes but instead keep the funds raised. Think of all the support he can buy!!

Emails?? Really?? You’re having a fit because of an email server? What a joke. I suppose they could draw out this ridiculous witch hunt, but then those in the Bush admin would have to be investigated regarding the millions of email they deleted, as well as the servers they used. The deals they made regarding the invasion of Iraq. You know, that whole Cheney/Rumsfeld thing.

Trump is a narcissistic sociopath. No critically thinking person would support such a inappropriate choice for POTUS. Do you hate the U.S. that much? Do you want rights taken away from LGBT community, women, legal immigrants, students? Do you want someone for POTUS who is supported not by our allies but by Russia and North Korea?? Someone who mocks the physically disabled? Who gets angry like a toddler and bans news agencies because he doesn’t like what they write??

If you fear a woman in charge, go ahead, vote for the most unqualified candidate to ever run for office in the US. I’m old enough to remember Pat Paulsen, are you? He was better qualified. I’m better qualified.

Yeah, the world will take notice if Trump wins. It will spell the end of our reputation, regard, and leadership in the eyes of both allies and not. He won’t win, though. The “lemmings” (you know the story of the lemming is a myth, right?) outnumber the racist, homophobic backwood dimwits who support Drumpf.

On another note, your insults toward John are immature and completely unwarranted. I’m sure it took days to write your diatribe, but you end up looking the fool. Good thing you used a pseudonym. It’s so easy to be a schoolyard bully anonymously.

    • Hahahaha, 2 lines into your hysterical reply I smell FAUX “news” through the text. Trump funding his own campaign? ???? You mean “loaning himself” money so he can write it off on his taxes? Lest not forget the Koch brothers whom have already committed $1 BILLION (Yes, with a B) for the Republicans to win.
It’s like you have never picked up a history book of any sort. Jesus could probably sit next to you at a table and you’d ask him to move.
Incredible how racism is blinding people.

  28. Translation: I want it to be 1920 where blacks could be lynched with impunity, minorities and women knew their place – underneath the foot of white, straight Christian men

And BEFORE you castigate me as a LAZY MOOCHER, I work 12-18 hour days in IT, I’ve pulled more all-nighters in data centers than you ever will, I pay 28% Federal, 10% State taxes, contribute to various charities.

I happen to realize that 99.5% of us are ONE accident, ONE chronic illness, ONE job loss, ONE unforeseen circumstance from poverty and homelessness – and that children, the elderly, the disabled, veterans and anyone needing help should be helped because they’re HUMAN BEINGS

  29. Everyone has their own opinion. We know right from wrong, yet many will always do wrong. You are wasting your time posting your “opinions” on here.

  30. Thank you, Mr. Pavlovitz. You have given me food for thought.
I know that I am not alone when I say that my values, my sense of right and wrong and how I actively live my life falls into every single quality that you list as giving you hope.
I also, know that I am not alone when I say I am a Trump supporter.
There, I have said it. I am a Trump supporter who is not a bigot, not full of hate or malice and believes in the greater good of the individual.
Again, I am certain, that I am not alone.

  31. “. . . you’ve given other like-minded people license to do the same. ”

Licenses to free speech are not given or sold, people are born with 1st amendment protections. Presumptive President Donald J. Trump has no more power to give you your God-given right to speak the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth, so help you God, then he has to squelch your speech and silence you.

YOU and YOU ALONE are responsible for what you say and do, no one else! GROW UP!

  32. I will be very respectful, and I don’t imagine for a second that this will change anyone’s mind, or that this will even get posted, but I have to say that I am shaking my head at this article. Trump has Not revealed racism and hate in people. He is resonating because a lot of Americans are saying, “Finally! Someone is in a position to voice how frustrated we are that the media, the President, and all these other leaders keep accusing us of being something that we are not!” Trump may be brash and he is certainly bold, but how else do we get our country back to its core values; that “We are endowed by our Creator with certain unalienable rights, among those are Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness.”
I do know who has revealed the racism in some people’s hearts; President Barack Hussein Obama. He has repeatedly made false or misleading statements to fuel the flames of racism and hate like I have never seen before. He calls for peace and civility on one hand, then turns around and validates a movement (#BLM) who consistently yell for “dead cops and to fry them like bacon”. How in the world is that helpful? And, it is well proven that these groups are led by people paid and funded by #GeorgeSoros who makes his living off of chaos and hate. Obama is the one who has opened the floodgates of hatred which has overflowed into the streets and is manifest by the recent cop killings. We have forgotten that in our country one is innocent Until proven guilty, but the media has appointed themselves judge and jury by printing lies and misleading statements (like “hands up don’t shoot” proven to be a total lie) Other leaders like Jessie Jackson and Al Sharpton have made their living off preaching #victimhood by keeping the black community enslaved to government welfare (policies pushed by the Dems). They preach that the white man has kept them enslaved for decades yet all one has to do is take a look at ANY city that has been led by liberals and see how downtrodden and in trouble it is, i.e. #Detroit. Take a look at LTC #AllenWest, #MiaLove, #HermanCain, Dr. #BenCarson, #DarrylGlenn, Senator #TimScott, Condaleeza Rice, Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, and the list goes on and on. These people know where the real hate and racism comes from. They didn’t play the victim but kept pushing through. They are hated by their fellow blacks because they broke free from the bondage of the #Democrat lies that keep them from rising up and being independent. The same lies that have enabled the breakdown of the family through welfare and abortion. The real #racism is perpetuated by the Democratic Party. They are scared of any black #Conservative who speaks the truth. #CrookedHillary will only be more of the same.

  33. Hillary’s Lies Matter . . . What kind of person supports her and what she has done? What can you say about their morals & values? As you so eloquently bash Trump, you must surely be backing his murdering liar of an opponent .

  34. I choose to believe that most Americans will vote wisely as it is in their best interests to do so, but whatever the outcome of the polls, I hope their leader will be someone who has the capability to govern the country well and make decisions for the best interests of all Americans and people living and working in America. I also hope that he will be a fair leader of the global community and wisely put the vast power and influence that America wields to good use.

  35. Well said, but to be honest, out there in the world we always knew Americans were hypocrites hidden under a politically correct fake bleached smile.

  36. What is maturity? The best definition I’ve ever heard was the ability to live with ambivalence without killing someone, literally or figuratively. To be simultaneously able to feel righteous anger and disappointment toward someone while still feeling at least some love and compassion.

It happens within the BEST, most loving families. Family members can provoke one another to anger, frustration, disappointment, and even feelings of betrayal. But if you’re mature, you still feel at least some compassion, love, and fondness for them and you don’t kill them, or kick them out! You feel both/and, not either/or toward people you love and care for, and you don’t quash one set of feelings in favor of the other . . . but ONLY if you’re mature. We should all realize by now that there are oodles of immature people out there, first and foremost among the Democratic Socialist cum Progressive Fascist party.

By this definition Republicans are the most mature of the two primary political parties, now headed by Presumptive President Donald J. Trump. He has shown amazing maturity by allowing tens of millions of viewers, including the Godless media, to observe the dysfunction within the extended Republican political family, and still carry on. There will be no perfectly scripted, faux-unity broadcast to the world from the GOP convention. The truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth, so help U.S. God, is being told. Some Republicans do not want to vote for Trump – their prerogative, so long as they fully understand that not voting for Trump is a de facto vote for Hillary Benghazi Espionage Clinton, the Queen of Dishonesty and Untrustworthiness.

Nowhere was President Trump’s maturity more on display than last night (7/20) when he invited former Presidential rival, Senator Ted Cruz, to speak during prime time at the convention, knowing a couple hours beforehand that Ted was NOT going to endorse him. The immature media had a field day and put their immaturity – to say nothing of their egos and uninformed bias – on full display for anyone tuning into MSNBC, CNN, or even Fox, etc. Fox spent far too much time pontificating among themselves and their guests and failed to broadcast several key speeches. And thus, while flipping between all 3 stations I spent most of my time viewing CNN because they broadcast most of the speeches without interruption, and only bloviated among a panel of nine (9!) of themselves primarily between speeches.

What did Trump, the Artist of the DEAL, say about Ted’s failure to endorse him?

    “No Big DEAL!”

Amen. No Big Deal! And yet no sooner than the faked Big Deal of Melania’s speech that contained a couple plagiarized lines through no fault of her own began to die down, the media was on to making Ted’s failure to endorse a YOOOOGE deal. It ain’t. It’s the truth. Senator Cruz tried to have it both ways and Donald let him. He had the prime time spotlight and gave the speech he likely would have given Thursday night had he become the GOP nominee – he didn’t, but did not endorse Trump on principle, ostensibly because Trump rudely and unnecessarily insulted Ted’s wife and father. I admire Ted’s principled stand and since Donald gave his permission, it’s “No Big DEAL!” That’s maturity.

Who thinks Ted Cruz and his die-hard supporters will vote for Hillary? Not me! I’m mature! You?

I have more respect and admiration for the maturity of the Republican party than the immaturity of the Democratic Socialist cum Progressive Fascist party which lies, re-lies, and lies again, personified by the presumptive Democratic nominee herself, and her party’s staging of impossibly perfectly scripted, inane, nonsensical spectacles (just watch their convention next week) deceptively broadcasted with the aid of their sycophantic mainstream media pals for their immature constituency which can’t hold two incongruous feelings in tension with one another without blowing a gasket and lighting an American flag and themselves on fire; burning down stores, office buildings, homes and police vehicles; vandalizing, looting, pillaging, and getting arrested and thrown in jail; and killing law enforcement officers, one another, or some Black Lives that don’t Matter to them within the Democrat-controlled inner cities they reside in.

The lion’s share of the Stupid Electorate resides within the Democratic Socialist cum Progressive Fascist party, and their immaturity is constantly on display for the Smart Electorate to marvel at.

  37. While I agree with Mr. Pavlovitz that the ugliness coming out now with the support of Trump needs to be out in the open instead of hidden as it has been for so long, so that we can get to work on finding out where it comes from and deal with it, unlike him I must now warn my brown children that they cannot be in public spaces after dark, and especially not with other brown or black friends. It hit me last night, when I realized my daughter was on the university campus with a black friend who is a student there. They were sitting by the fountain, chatting and laughing and taking pics of a drunk student who was swimming in the fountain. When they sent the pic of the drunk student to my daughter with a “Lol”, both her sister and I freaked out. I ordered her to get out of there immediately as all I could think of was that some adult might get irritated at the drunk white student breaking the law by swimming in the fountain and call the police. The odds of my brown daughter and her brown friend getting hurt by those police, or white people who now feel they have permission to harrass anyone of color, seem to be rising daily. How can this be happening in this country?!

  38. Lets be honest and say the only thing DONALD TRUMP is good in is business, and if Americans don’t watch out, America will no longer be a 1st world country. Look at all the countries his political advicer was. Do you realy really need dictatorship at this time and age?

    • The America Trumpaphobes Fear . . . or . . . How Terrible Democratic Socialist cum Progressive Fascists’ (DSCPF) Lives Will Become Under President Donald J. Trump.

Trumpaphobia includes, but is not limited to:

      1) DSCPF American citizens will be forced to live in a sovereign nation with a fortified wall on its southern border which will make it orders of magnitude more difficult for Illegal Aliens, including some who are Islamic Jihadi Terrorists, murderers, rapists, human and drug traffickers (you’ll miss them most), and violent gang-bangers to enter illegally into the USA.

      2) DSCPF acolytes will find themselves residing in a nation surrounded by many fewer Illegal Aliens as millions of them will be lawfully deported back to their home nations where they’ll be able to reside legally; Illegal Alien adults of course will be permitted to take their minor children with them.

      3) DSCPF laborers now making at or near minimum wage will suddenly find many more job openings, some of which will pay above Minimum Wage WITHOUT a federal mandate under penalty of law; it will be simple Supply and Demand for Labor that drives the market wages of no- and low-skilled workers up as low-wage working Illegal Aliens return home.

      4) DSCPF senior citizens will suffer through having to grow old and collect Social Security and Medicare because President Trump will make both more solvent.

      5) DSCPF folk who work in businesses within industries that export – or want to export – their goods and services will find that more of their goods and services actually get exported, creating more jobs and enriching all.

      6) DSCPF wo/men who love paying up to and more than half their top dollars earned to their federal, state and local governments will discover that they will be “forced” to keep more of their hard-earned money to spend as they see fit.

      7) DSCPF ladies and gentlemen who are especially fond of the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant, al-Qae’da, Boko Haram, al-Nusra Front, al-Shabaab, the Taliban, and their ilk will find that fewer of them remain alive and available to slaughter them in Islamic Jihadi Terrorist attacks.

      8) DSCPF acolytes who are enamored of Hillary Espionage Clinton’s war hawkishness as exemplified by her militant support for the Iraq war and her bloody foray into Libya, which resulted in the slaughter of Ambassador Chris Stevens, Communications Staffer Sean Smith, and retired Navy SEALS Glen Doherty and Tyrone Woods on her watch, in Benghazi, will discover that our troops are ordered into battle far less frequently under President Trump’s leadership.

      9) DSCPF minions who love buying cheap, foreign goods will find that more Made In America goods are stocked on the shelves – virtual and actual – they normally shop and purchase from. Some of those products will be slightly more expensive than they’re used to paying because more of them will be produced in America where the price of labor is HIGHER than in the countries they’re used to purchasing from.

      10) DSCPF seekers of Safe Spaces will discover there remain fewer of them to flee to when microaggressed and triggered because our Bill of Rights, including and especially our 1st amendment, will be enforced throughout the land.

      11) DSCPF loathers of the 2nd amendment will find that their philosophically opposed neighbors keep and bear more uninfringed firearms and that their homes are less frequently burglarized and otherwise broken into.

      12) DSCPF haters of God and opposers of the free exercise of religion will discover that God is once again respected, revered, lauded, honored and magnified, and that Godly Americans are no longer thrown in jail for EXERCISING their religion in all the spheres they live, breathe, and have their being.

      13) DSCPF nontherapeutic abortionists who live, breathe and enjoy their being while slaughtering 1,100,000 of their unborn children with impunity per annum will discover that they are unable to continue to do so without avoiding prosecution on up to 1st degree murder homicide charges as their baby-daddies are currently prosecuted for within federal jurisdiction and up to 38 states’ jurisdictions; Gender Equality and Equal Justice Under the Law without sexual bias will become reality in Trump’s Great America as a result of the signing and enforcement of a Life At Conception Act.

      14) DSCPF zombies will become horrified as President Trump appoints up to four (4) SCOTUS Justices who will not only swear a solemn oath to “support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter. So help me God,” but will actually support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all domestic enemies who wish to pretend the Constitution says and/or tolerates lawless behaviors arrived at by a corrupt judicial ideology other than an Originalist and Textualist exegesis following by a proper, sequitur interpretation and hermeneutic. With the strike zone remaining the same as when the Constitution was written, the new SCOTUS Justices will call objective “balls and strikes.”

      15) DSCPF lightweights suffering from Trumpaphobia will be horrified to discover that America once again tolerates citizens doing virtually anything their sinful hearts desire within the parameters of our Rule of Law, with NO ONE TOO BIG TO JAIL, and everyone prosecuted or exonerated on the basis of what our statutes literally say; there will be no emanations of penumbra leading to the making of new, anti- and un-Constitutional laws, and nor will “unsophisticates” be excused for breaking our laws because they were too unaltered by education, too naive, unsavvy, stupid and ignorant to realize they were breaking the law – especially if they are Poison Ivy League Law School graduates, and/or have been engaging in activities that the law directly applies to and prohibits for several years.

In other words, America will return to her roots of being the land of the free, the home of the brave, and a Republic nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all; operating according to Truth, Justice, and the American way, and in accordance with ALL of our Constitution’s and statutes’ prescriptions and proscriptions, with exceptions made for NO ONE!

How horrible that will be for DSCPF lovers of Marx-derived corruption, lawlessness, filicide, and Godlessness. Start pitying them now!

      • No.

What is MORE LIKELY to happen is tha anyone non-white, non-straight and non-Christian will be forced out of jobs, educations, herded on ships making those of the Middle Passage like like the QE2 or staring up at gates with the equivalent of ‘Arbeit Mach Frei’ on then in some detention camp.

Ask the Japanese inhabitants of the United States of the 1940’s……

Is an Eternal, omniscient, omnipotent’ omnipresent, N-Dinensional Being so weak, helpless and defenseless that this Being requires BULLIES to force their beliefs in Him upon everyone else? Is He so weak that He requires YOU to defend and advocate for Him?
If He is God, nothing in this Universe can stand against Him – and people not wanting your beliefs forced upon them IS NOT BEING PERSECUTED – perhaps if people actually saw you expressing His LOVE for them. they just might listen to what you have to say – all they hear us disgust, rejection, sneering and looking down your long Christian nose at them – any wonder why no one wants to hear about White Conservative Jesus????

          • NO – I am a black woman who has been attacked, spit upon and called the N-word in this country. I’ve had people not want me in their precious neighborhoods, churches or schools

So don’t tell me that I have nothing to be afraid of.

I also happen to be an Oracle Database Administrator, with UNIX Systems Administration experience (AIX, HP-UX, Solaris) I have a master’s degree from Loyola Marymount, so I think I am not a planarian or ameoba.

You’ve never been attacked or spit upon simply for having your DNA have the effrontery to code for melanin – so you have nothing to say.

            • I see you have not yet consulted with the people who can offer you an antidote and supply you a remedy. I suggest you contact one or more of the following stat:

Rev. Mark Burns, Rev. Darrell Scott, Dr. Ben Carson, Senator Tim Scott, Sheriff David Clarke, David Webb, Herman Cain, Star Parker, Dr. Alveda King – Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s niece, Congresswoman Mia Love, US Senate Candidate Darryl Glenn.

              You’re welcome.

              • I respect these people for having opinions not common to other black people – and for showing that black people are not monolithic…I am not sure that I totally agree with their conservatism, or that their presence is necessarily protection from what other conservatives may want to enact.

I am admittedly ambivalent – in some ways, one would think I would agree with them, as I have always loved education and achievement (and have been called an Oreo for it), but at the same time – I have seen aspects of conservatism (and I will grant that perhaps it is not true conservatism) that make me afraid for those not fitting certain categories…I don’t think that LGBTQIX people should be subject to conversion therapy, for example, nor should their rights be trammeled. I think there is room in society for civil marriage (done by the state, available to anyone over a certain age) and religious marriage (done according to the tenets of church, synagogue, mosque, etc).

I think in some ways, Hillary would be worse than Donald Trump; she would be far more militaristic, for one thing, and open the doors of the financial henhouse to the corporate and banking foxes.

If “None of the Above” were on the ballot – that would be the runaway winner……….

          • Also – what a LOVING, CHRISTIAN response to something YOU don’t want to ACKNOWLEDGE – the REAL, LIVED experiences of NON-WHITE people in this country

  39. BREAKING: WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange says his next leak will virtually guarantee an indictment of Hillary Clinton

“In a recent interview with ITV, Assange said the whistleblowing website will soon be leaking documents that will provide ‘enough evidence’ for the Department of Justice to indict the presumptive Democratic nominee. WikiLeaks has already published 30,322 emails from Clinton’s private email server, spanning from June 30, 2010 to August 12, 2014. While Assange didn’t specify what exactly was in the emails, he did tell ITV that WikiLeaks had ‘accumulated a lot of material about Hillary Clinton, which could proceed to an indictment.’”

  40. Jon Palovitz, thank you for making this article mainstream. I have long believed that we recognize in others those traits we know about ourselves, and that is why you and I weren’t ready to accept that so many of our countrymen were deeply infested with this ugliness you refer to. But Donald Trump not only saw it, he tapped into it as if it were a marketing demographic.
This is frightening to me. While I have listened to the fears of friends and neighbors regarding the “unseen dangers” and “terrorism hiding among us to pop up at any time and attack inside our borders” I realize those fears are not as paranoid as I once believed them to be, and this is it. This is exactly the force that could devastated our liberties, freedoms, and most certainly our equalities. This “ugliness” is the force that could dismantle America from the inside out corrupting our children and poisoning our future.
Unfortunately this enemy can’t be taken out by using our military forces. Combating this enemy doesn’t involve the drama and uniformed glory of physical force and combat. This conflict will be fought at the polls, and even if that first very meaningful essential battle is won, this war will be ongoing for years to come.

  41. I came here to this post by accident. It was shared on my Facebook page by a Trump supporter who, as is often the case, only read the first couple sentences before sharing it as a pro-Trump post. I usually ignore these pro-Trumpian things, but I clicked on it because I wanted to understand why people I consider friends and family could believe that Donald Trump is qualified and fit to be President. They believe he is a good businessman and a decent person. And, so I came to read this and found a completely different post than I expected.

And, it reminded me that part of why Donald Trump has support is because many of his supporters never get past the first sentence or bother to investigate whether what he says is true. And, this, in some ways, is as scary as Trump himself.

    Thank you …

  42. I wish I could say you took the words right out of my mouth, but I have had no words to describe what I am seeing. THANK YOU for this. 🙂

  43. Unfortunately, news sources are baiting the hate with articles titled in this manner:

Ann Coulter: “Trump Adultery Approved By God Because They Met In A Church”

Nowhere in the article does she say that.

Another article is titled “Trump revives creepy gun rhetoric against Clinton: Disarm her bodyguards — ‘let’s see what happens to her’”, and apparently nobody bothered to read it because the article actually reads:

“Speaking in Florida, Trump accused Clinton of wanting to “abolish” the Second Amendment, then criticized her for traveling with armed Secret Service bodyguards.

“I think that her bodyguards should drop all weapons – they should disarm,” he said. “I think they should disarm immediately, what do you think, yes? Take their guns away, she doesn’t want guns. Take their guns away, Let’s see what happens to her.”

    ~,,^
And ALL I see are people worked up to an angry froth using language that would make a convicts blush.

SO, what you said about Trump:

“By saying the irresponsible, mean-spirited, ignorant things you say so freely and so frequently, you’ve given other like-minded people license to do the same. You’ve opened up the floodgates for our corporate sewage to flow fully. People no longer conceal their vile mess, they now revel in it, they broadcast it and retweet it.

You’ve made bigotry and racism socially acceptable again and that has been a kind of twisted gift because it’s allowed me to really see people; not as they pretend to be on the surface—but in the very depths of their wounded, weaponized hearts.”

…works for supporters and non supporters alike.

I have never seen anything like this in my 60 years on this planet. I fear for our children and our grandchildren. <:*(

  44. I address Mr. Donald Trump,
I am so FOR you, words cannot even say…I admire and respect you. You are intelligent, experienced, ‘think outside of the box creative’, and you expose the truth. You know how to run a business. That’s imperative, cuz no one in our current government apparently does. They haven’t been on the front lines. You and I are alike. I am small and you are big, but there is no difference. We are on the outside looking in. We are the ones who ‘tip the apple cart’. History will show that those of us who ‘rise up ‘ for change can and have made our world better (even though we often suffer for it). Let’s get rid of the archaic (the earth is flat, blood-letting will cure, Obamacare will insure everyone). Never give up. I know you won’t, and neither will I.
I have already voted for you.

  47. Wow, that’s a lot of discussion.I want to say that I do believe that America’s quick ,negative reaction to Trump is a positive.I think that he is providing a bully face, or bully posse to hate. That helps the simple get up off the couch and go march in the streets. My real monsters are the Republican power brigade, which is lead by Mitch McConnell. He is responsible , along with Putin and Comey, for Trump’s election. They are not just fiscal conservatives. They intend to hand the country to rich White men, and push away any threats they perceive to that order. That’s who I get angry with. So, Trump puts a face on a much bigger problem. I think we can love people back into a better version of America. I will require a lot of food, friends, and prayer.

  48. I am new to your blog, I checked you out a little and liked what I read. I have to admit up front that I am an atheist, and obviously you are not. I am not one to deny you your faith however, and you seem to be a forthright human being who uses your brain housing group for more than a hatrack! So as long as you do not try and convince me that the Flintstones was a documentary, or deny me my science, we will get along fine. I am following you now and looking forward to your future submissions. I myself try to write a blog, but I am a total amateur in the blogging world. Plus I am loquacious but without the skill to go along with it, but working on it! I agree with your premise for the most part, but I still blame Trump too! Or maybe a mental illness! I think he will not make his initial four years, but I am fearful of Pence as well.
